Ewuaso-Suswa Wildlife Conservancy is a unique landscape with Wildlife, Cattle and people coexisting in a peaceful environment.
It is located at the floor of the Eastern Riftvalley in Southern landscape of Kenya.
The Conservancy was created after elephants migration experience in the area for the Last 6 years.
Interesting elephants visits Maasai Bomas for saltlick and also spend in the kraal together with cows for the night.
That new phenomenon is a wonder for the community who are both excited and afraid at the same time.
Studies have been done and it was discovered that the migration route existed longtime ago hence Ewuaso-Suswa Wildlife Conservancy lies in the Southern wildlife corridor in Kajiado West and Narok East linking Amboseli, Loita and Mara Ecosystems.
There’s a breeding zone within the Conservancy at a place called PION and so we have between 100 to 200 herds of elephant’s resident.
The Community plays a critical role in decision-making through traditional public barazas it is created for the Community by the Community. it is an interesting Concept and it is working for this particular Community.
